Crab sticks or Surimi is an imitation crab meat usually made from fish paste. They are full of flavors, very tasty and very addictive. This is a truly simple recipe, almost impossible to fail, and only require 3 ingredients.

Tips:

  • Do not overcrowd when frying, fried in small batches.
  • Heat oil to 160℃ to 170℃ before frying. (320°F – 340°F)

Fried Crab Sticks

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg Crab sticks (Surimi)
  • 750 ml Cooking oil
  • 3 tbsp. Corn starch
 

Instructions:

1 Defrost and unwrap crab sticks packaging.

2 Unroll and peel into thin strips.

3 Sieve in corn starch and coat crab stick strips evenly. Allow them to slightly dry in the refrigerator for 2 hours to minimize oil splatters.

4 Heat oil to 160℃-170℃, distributed strips evenly on hot oil, fry in small batches. To prevent sticking do not stir immediately, do so gently after 10-20 seconds.

5 Deep fry over medium heat until golden brown.

6 Drain excess oil on paper towel, allow them to fully cool before storing in airtight container.
