Add ground pepper, five spice powder, salt and sugar to chicken wings, coat each well with marinade. Keep refrigerated to marinate for at least 5 hours or overnight. (Reminder: Marinate the wings longer for better taste.)
Set aside the marinated chicken wings at room temperature for 30 minutes before baking.
Combine honey and butter, mix well.
Line air fryer basket with non-stick baking paper. Arrange chicken wings in air fryer basket, put into air fryer, bake at 180°C for 8 minutes.
Coat chicken wings with honey-butter, then turn the wings over, coat the other side. Bake again at 180°C for 8 minutes.
Turn the wings again, bake at 180°C for another 2 minutes.
